MERLIN Properties Annual Report 2020 / English
8 | Annual Report | 2020 Conscious of the increasing importance of sustainability in the Company, we have decided to create a commission within the Board, the Sustainability Commission, to promote and guide environmental, social and innovation initiatives in the Company. In MERLIN Properties, we have always worked having all of our stakeholders at heart, shareholders and investors, clients, suppliers and employees, and we are convinced that the success of a company is based in finding the right balance between all of them and that our work as a company results in a benefit for society at large. In this regard, the Board of Directors approved the Company’s purchase of eight state-of-the- art robots for PCR diagnostic tests for the detection of Covid-19. Additionally, we have proposed the reduction of the Board of Directors to 13 members, following the departure of Mr. John Gómez Hall, for personal reasons. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Gómez Hall for his excellent work over the years and his contribution to the improvement of the Company in every aspect. Finally, we face a 2021 still very much affected by the pandemic but we approach it with the serenity that comes from a robust balance sheet and a strong liquidity position. MERLIN’s diversification helps to offset risks, the portfolio counts with a sound quality and the lease maturity profile below 10% for 2021, allows us to tackle this year with tranquility. Once again I want to thank the shareholders of MERLIN Properties for their confidence and support, without which none of this would be possible. Many thanks.
