ı 74 ı Consumption management Energy (electricity and fuel) and water consumption are two of the main environmental aspects linked to building operation. MERLIN continuously monitors and assesses energy and water consumed in managed assets under operation, defining and implementing measures to assure keeping both at efficient levels. The Company also controls energy and water consumption in other assets without management control. These assets are not considered part of the company’s own environmental performance and therefore not included in this chapter, since MERLIN does not have any control on their performance or margin to introduce any improvement measures.
